Line Echo ("we," "our," or "us") is an AI-powered script rehearsal platform designed to help actors practice their lines. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application at lineecho.app ("the Service").
By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Script Content
When you upload screenplay PDFs or images, we process them to extract dialogue, characters, and scene information using AI. Your uploaded scripts and extracted data are stored securely and associated with your account.
Usage Data
We collect data about how you interact with the Service, including rehearsal session activity, feature usage, voice and playback preferences, and upload and voice-over line usage counts for quota tracking.
Voice Data
When you use speech recognition during rehearsals, your voice is processed entirely on your device using on-device AI. Your voice data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. We have no access to your voice recordings.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Polar. We do not directly collect, store, or have access to your credit card numbers or banking details. Polar provides us with your subscription status and customer ID for billing management.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To process and analyze your uploaded scripts using AI
- To generate AI voice-over audio for scene partner characters during rehearsal
- To track and enforce usage quotas based on your subscription tier
- To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests
- To send email verification and password reset messages
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service
4. Cookies and Local Storage
We use session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. The Service also uses your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) to cache the speech recognition model for faster loading. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
5. Third-Party Services
We share limited data with the following third-party services to operate the Service:
- Google Cloud: Generates AI voice-over audio for scene partner characters. Script line text and sentiment are sent for voice generation; no personal data is shared.
- Cloudflare R2: Stores generated voice-over audio files and user avatar images.
- Polar: Processes subscription payments. Receives your email for billing purposes.
- Google AI (Gemini): Analyzes uploaded scripts to extract characters and dialogue. Script content is sent for processing; no personal data is shared.
- Resend: Sends transactional emails (verification, password reset, welcome). Receives your email address.
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers. We use encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and follow industry-standard security practices to protect your information. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information and uploaded scripts for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual scripts at any time, and they will be permanently removed within 30 days.
If you request account deletion, we will remove all your personal data, scripts, and associated content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your data and account
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to certain processing of your data

9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
