Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using Line Echo ("the Service"), operated by Line Echo ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Description of Service

Line Echo is an AI-powered script rehearsal platform that allows actors to:

  • Upload screenplay PDFs and images for AI-powered analysis
  • Automatically extract dialogue, characters, and scene information
  • Practice lines with AI scene partners that voice other characters
  • Use on-device speech recognition to match spoken lines to the script
  • Adjust playback speed and voice assignments for personalized rehearsal

4. User Accounts

To use our Service, you must create an account using email and password or Google sign-in. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account

You may not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account. We reserve the right to disable accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscription and Billing

Free Tier (Audition)

Our free Audition tier includes limited script uploads, lines per script, and voice-over lines per month. See our pricing page for current limits.

Paid Subscriptions

Paid plans (Working Actor and Studio) are billed monthly or yearly through our payment processor, Polar. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.

Plan Changes

You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Usage limits reset each billing period and do not roll over.

Refunds

You may request a refund within 14 days of your initial purchase or any renewal. Contact us at hello@lineecho.app for refund inquiries. Refunds are issued at our discretion and processed to the original payment method.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content that infringes on any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple users on a single account
  • Use the Service to generate harmful, abusive, or offensive content
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying technology or algorithms
  • Use automated tools or bots to access the Service or scrape content
  • Circumvent usage limits or quotas through technical means

7. Intellectual Property

Our IP: The Service, including its name, logo, design, features, and all proprietary technology, is owned by Line Echo. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without written permission.

Your Content: You retain full ownership of scripts and content you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.

AI-Generated Audio: Voice-over audio generated by the Service is produced using third-party AI voice technology. Generated audio is intended for personal rehearsal purposes only and may not be redistributed, published, or used commercially.

8. User-Generated Content

You are solely responsible for the scripts and content you upload. You represent and warrant that:

  • You have the legal right to use, upload, and process the content
  • The content does not violate any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or other rights
  • The content is not illegal, harmful, threatening, or offensive

We do not monitor or review uploaded scripts, but we reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

9. Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes that affect your use of the Service.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. AI-GENERATED CONTENT, INCLUDING SCRIPT ANALYSIS AND VOICE-OVER AUDIO, MAY CONTAIN ERRORS OR INACCURACIES. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LINE ECHO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Line Echo and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any other reason at our sole discretion. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the competent courts of the jurisdiction in which we operate.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service.
